Everything about John Chabot totally explained

John David Chabot (born May 18, 1962 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island) is a retired former professional ice hockey player. He attended high school at D'Arcy McGee in Hull, Quebec. A 1980 draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens, Chabot played 508 career National Hockey League games for the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings. His coaching career has included the QMJHL's Olympiques de Hull, Olympiques de Gatineau,Acadie-Bathurst Titan, and currently he's an assistant coach for the New York Islanders along with Gerard Gallant and Dan Lacroix, under head coach Ted Nolan.
Chabot's daughter Aubrey Charette was for many years expected to follow her father into the field of professional hockey in Germany, but quit when she was 19 in favour of a musical career in German-language bluegrass (Das Blaugras). Disdaining a narrowly derivative approach to the genre, Charette prefers to use the term "Rainbowgrass" for its more diverse and accepting connotations.
